Absolutely!As our global footprint continues to spread across the world, we’re looking for a *Software Architect *to join our team and lead the technical design of some of UL's key customer-facing applications.The successful candidate will deliver technical roadmaps enabling our leaders to effectively plan and our development teams to effectively execute the right technologies at the right times. In this position, you will make use of extensive experience in enterprise software to provide solutions to large-scale opportunities.This role could be performed in the UK, Ireland or Spain on a fully remote basis or hybrid working, depending on your preference!***What you'll learn and achieve: *•Define key aspects of architecture and design (e.g. scalability, availability, manageability, security, performance).•Lead projects with UL IT managers to develop and maintain three-year technology roadmaps in all technology areas and with UL Application and Information Management.•Maintain and applies current knowledge of information technology. Researches new and emerging technologies through industry journals, conferences, and various information sources such as Gartner, Meta, etc. to help determine if and how they can be used to add value to the business.•Advises Business/IT management on IT enterprise architecture issues. Participates in the IT Standards, IT Performance, and Capacity Management processes.•Recommend innovative approaches to leverage new and existing hardware, software, and other technologies as necessary. Identifies, researches, and designs supporting infrastructure that provides services to UL’s staff and clients worldwide.•Ensures the technology infrastructure and direction meet the current and forecast needs of the application portfolio.•Engages all external service providers in the planning and provision of system resource requirements.*What makes you a great fit:*•Proven track record as a software architect working within a software architecture team, providing technical leadership/guidance/mentorship.•Detailed knowledge of industry trends and best practices for computing infrastructure.•Operational knowledge of service-level metrics and tools used to measure these metrics.•Working knowledge of project lifecycle methodology.•Detailed knowledge in the following: Computing n-tiered and highly available 24 x 7 environments, cloud computing (Azure or AWS), and data analytics.
