Job Description: Job Title: Regulatory Legal Solicitor Corporate Title: Director and Assistant General Counsel Location: London Role Description: Providing legal support to the Regulatory COO team, BofA Senior Management and other support functions on regulatory matters relating to the EMEA banking and private side businesses, ESG and digital assets. This support includes helping with advocacy, interpretation and implementation of relevant regulatory requirements. Participating in trade association and industry working groups and liaising with external counsel on regulatory matters relating to the EMEA banking and private side businesses, ESG and digital assets. Supporting strategic advocacy efforts for the banking and private side businesses with regulators and lawmakers directly and through key trade associations. Working with impacted line of business lawyers to partner on regulatory implementation and advocacy. Representing GBAM Legal in key internal governance, reporting and approval functions. The Team: The Team currently consists of three lawyers led by Christiana Norman. The three lawyers are all FTE with one an MD, one a Director/Associate GC and one a VP/Counsel. The Team is highly collaborative, with a strong working relationship. The Team works closely with the Regulatory COO Team, BofA Senior Management and other support functions as their trusted advisors on regulatory matters relating to the EMEA banking and markets business, ESG and digital assets. The Team works with these other functions on the advocacy, interpretation and implementation of relevant regulatory requirements. The Team also works closely with BofA Regulatory Legal and line of business Legal colleagues in EMEA and other jurisdictions, including the US and APAC. Cumulatively, the Team has a vast amount of experience and is well placed to provide ongoing support and training, with senior members actively identifying development opportunities for more junior team members. More broadly, the Team has an internal mentoring program, connecting senior leaders across the legal department with teammates across all regions. In addition, the Team has an external mentoring program with its key magic circle law firms, helping to develop and support diverse lawyers and to further create a legal profession that represents the diversity of our communities. Key skills: Qualified Solicitor Experience of investment banking (preferably banking private side businesses) either through private practice advisory work/secondment, an in-house legal department or trade association Ideally some experience in advising on banking regulatory requirements (e.g. the EU’s Banking Union proposals and the UK’s proposed Prospectus Regime) Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work Ability to review large quantities of regulatory information and determine what are/should be priority areas for BofA to focus on Proactive and able to manage competing priorities/tight deadlines Bank of America: Every day, across the globe, our employees bring a commitment to our purpose and to driving responsible growth by living our values: deliver together, act responsibly, realize the power of our people and trust the team.
