Description Description Job summaryAmazon's Consumer Payments organization is a rapidly growing, multi-billion dollar global business, which provides our worldwide customers access to Amazon via accepted payment methods and significantly contributes to Amazon's profitability. Our payment operations team ensures seamless purchase and usability experience for customers. We are seeking a multi-talented manager to join our payment operations leadership team in its next phase of growth, further accelerating our scalable business approach and building trust with our stakeholders by ensuring best-in-class operational support across multiple business functions. As a senior leader, you will oversee the day-to-day execution by our payment operations team located in Bangalore, who have end-to-end ownership of business-critical recurring processes that support regional Operations, Marketing, Account Management, Supply Chain and Tech teams for Consumer Payments. You will guide the team in delivering substantial process and productivity improvement projects, where you will apply creative thinking, best practices, and identify new solutions to automate and increase efficiency in a meaningful way by challenging the status quo. This is a global role which will include interaction with peer operations teams and senior stakeholders in all countries where Amazon operates retail stores, requiring a strong ability to communicate effectively, quickly assessing and understanding the different needs of cross-functional internal customers. You should have experience leading key initiatives, from conception to launch in a rapidly evolving, ambiguous environment. This role can be based in the following locations: London, Munich or Madrid.Key job responsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities of the role include: • Create a bold 'Think Big' vision to a future model of centralized and scalable operational support for global payments business processes • Enjoy looking around corners, championing visionary ideas, creatively addressing issues and problems • Establish plans to address capacity needs related to peak volume fluctuations across a variety of business functions (business operations, supply chain, marketing, etc.) • Oversee and manage unforeseen escalations related to work within the team’s responsibility, applying good judgement in solving problems when ownership is ambiguous • Influence organizational resource planning processes across multiple organizations across all regions, leading proposal presentations to enable team expansion • Align operational Key Performance Indicators with stakeholders, defining new metrics and sourcing data as required to report team performance and ensuring targets are met • Prioritize project roadmaps owned within the team, maximizing output and leveraging skill sets of team members to build automated solutions wherever possible • Make strong hiring decisions and create individual development plans for your team, evolving the team’s structure as appropriate through its expansion by adopting new processes.A day in the lifeYou will work with many business partners from the worldwide Payments team to identify either new or existing processes that can be centralized or scaled through our Bangalore team. In your new role, you will be able to support internal customers in their high-speed growth, as well as our external customers via high-performant services. You will work with business partners to develop strategies and new approaches to existing processes, present them to management and ensure we apply world-wide best standards in our approach. You will be a beacon for your team's high standards.Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree • Experience in managing a high-performing team• Experience in business management/ management consulting and/or operational excellence roles • Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple teams and lead by influence, including the delivery of cross functional, international projects • Entrepreneurial spirit, is willing to roll up their sleeves and deliver results • Strong analytical skills and business acumen, to evaluate complex processes and business models • Understanding of making data-driven decisions, bringing new ideas to market and influencing others • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and knowledge of MS ExcelPreferred Qualifications • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques • Experience in scaling new/existing work via a centralized team across multiple business functions • Fluency in EU languages other than English • MBA • SQL knowledge • Having fun at work, being able to smile at yourself and share smiles with our awesome teamAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
