Graduate QC Chemist

QC Chemist required on a temp-to-perm basis, based in Manchester. Must have good wet chemistry and laboratory analytical skills. Recent and 2022 Chemistry graduates welcome. Their technical team is now looking for a QC Chemist to join the team initially on a temporary basis, with a view to becoming permanent. The role will involve analysing a range of raw materials and synthesised products using HPLC, UV-Vis, IR and other standard bench chemistry techniques. This role is available immediately so the successful applicant will need to be able to start immediately or with short notice. It would be a fantastic opportunity for a Chemistry graduate to gain analytical experience in a busy industrial laboratory (2022 graduates are welcome to apply!). You must have a driving licence and preferably your own vehicle.Benefits: 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays per annum and 37.5 working hours per week, 8.30am to 4.40pm, Monday - Friday. Full training will be provided and excellent potential to move to a permanent contract, depending on performance. Role / Description Following Standard Operating Procedures to conduct QC analysis on synthesised samples and raw materialsUsing chemical techniques such as UV-Vis, IR, HPLC, titrations, Karl-Fischer analysis, melting point and colorimetryUpdating and maintaining QC spreadsheets, reporting results and producing Certificates of Analysis (CoAs)Supporting R&D in an analytical capacityPreparation of chemicals for third party testing or shipment to customersTravelling to local warehouses and facilities to collect and sample raw materials in storageAssisting in general lab housekeeping and working safely in line with COSHH and H&S requirements RequirementsDegree in Chemistry or similarAvailable immediately or with short (1-2 weeks') noticePractical laboratory experience gained from university or industryGood wet chemistry skills - HPLC experience beneficial but not essentialValid Driving Licence (own vehicle preferred but not essential) If you would like to apply for this position, please use the link provided.
