Commercial Category Manager

Rate: £500–£600 p/d via umbrella

Location: London, Hybrid / 3 days onsite

Duration: 6 Months


Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Commercial Category Manager to join a high-performing commercial team, supporting technology procurement and supplier strategy across a fast-paced environment.


This role plays a key part in enabling stakeholders to deliver end-to-end commercial activity — from hardware and software sourcing through to supplier negotiation and value optimisation. Delivering commercial value and continuous improvement sits at the heart of this position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end commercial support, maintaining a comprehensive procurement pipeline
  • Collaborate with technology stakeholders to prioritise and deliver commercial activity
  • Support sourcing activities, including workshops to define sourcing strategies and requirements
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve commercial matters in line with governance processes
  • Partner with Finance to identify and realise savings and benefits
  • Embed effective commercial risk management practices
  • Utilise eProcurement systems efficiently and consistently
  • Support development of commercial capability within the business through engagement and training
  • Drive sustainability initiatives within the category
  • Identify and deliver cost savings and efficiencies
  • Maintain key commercial trackers (e.g. savings, pipelines, contracts, waivers)
  • Ensure effective communication and supplier intelligence sharing between procurement and stakeholders
  • Support supplier and contract management aligned to standard methodologies


Skills & Experience Required

Technical Experience

  • Proven experience building and managing commercial procurement pipelines
  • Experience delivering or supporting technology procurement activities
  • Strong background in strategic sourcing within technology categories
  • Experience working with public procurement regulations (PCR) and frameworks
  • Experience operating across full project lifecycles in fast-paced environments
  • MCIPS qualified (or working towards)
  • Active SC Clearance (Security Cleared)
